Frequently asked
How do I line up the old photo?
Open a project, start the camera, and add your historic image as the overlay. Use one finger to move it, two fingers to pinch-zoom and rotate, and the opacity slider to fade it against the live scene. Match a fixed landmark — a window, a roofline, a corner — then capture.
Where are my photos saved?
Captures and exports are written to your device’s photo gallery in a PastPresent album, and referenced from the App’s own encrypted database. Nothing is uploaded — your archive lives on your device.
I bought Pro — how do I restore it on a new device or after reinstalling?
Open the App and look for Restore purchases on the premium screen. Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Google or Apple account, so signing in with the same account and restoring will bring it back. If it doesn’t, email us with your store receipt.
The camera or location prompt isn’t appearing.
If you previously declined a permission, enable it in your device settings: iOS → Settings → PastPresent; Android → Settings → Apps → PastPresent → Permissions. Location is optional — the App works without it.
How do I turn off personalised ads?
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and → Apple Advertising. Android: Settings → Google → Ads. Upgrading is account-based; the free tier shows a single banner. See the privacy policy for detail.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling removes all local data. On Android you can also use Settings → Apps → PastPresent → Clear Data. Because we hold nothing on our servers, that’s all it takes.
Will my projects move from Android to iPhone?
Not automatically — the App stores everything locally on each device, so projects don’t sync between platforms or phones. Cross-device transfer is something we’re looking at; if it matters to you, let us know.
